npr...

...is bad for productivity.

I like listening to the weekend NPR programming. Car Talk, Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, This American Life, of course. Thistle and Shamrock not so much, and Speaking of Faith makes me throw things at the radio, but most of it's pretty good.

The problem is, it being the weekend, I'm usually trying to get something done. This sometimes involves moving about the house, or using a loud tool. And if I'm listening to something interesting on the radio, I don't want to go into another room or use a loud tool, because then I'll miss whatever they're talking about. So I find some excuse to sit and listen for awhile. It's bad for productivity.
